آخرین شماره ویژه نامه عکس سازمان گزارشگران بدون مرز منتشر شد. در این شماره عکس های «ایزیس» ، عکاس روس که جلای وطن کرد و در فرانسه اقامت گزید، منتشر شده. او اگر چه در روسیه متولد شده بود ولی در پی فروپاشی شوروی و شکل گیری جمهوری های تازه تاسیس، او را اینک باید اهل کشور لاتویا دانست. در بخش «میتینگ» این شماره، ۴ صفحه به مصاحبه و عکس هایی از من اختصاص پیدا کرده

از خیلی سال ها پیش که برای آژانس های عکس خارجی کار می کردم ، اعم از رویترز و آژانس های کوچکتر ، همیشه از این وضعیت که آن ها عکس های درخواستی مشخصی داشتند ناراحت بودم. در واقع باید بگویم که عکاس خوب انتخابی آن ها یعنی کسی که بتواند عکس هایی بیانگر و زیبا بگیرد از زنان با چادر، آخوندها ، عکس های خمینی و خامنه ای، نقاشی های دیواری با نقش های شهدا و رهبران سیاسی کشور، نوجوانان در حال طرفداری از رژیم سیاسی و تظاهرات ، آتش زدن و پاره کردن پرچم و هر آن چه که در این دایره می گنجید

آن زمان موضوع اعتراضات سیاسی بر علیه جمهوری اسلامی به هیچ روی در زمره این اخبار راه نداشت و این نیز اشتباه بزرگی بود که خبرگزاری های بین اللملی در باره شرایط ایران داشتند

اما برای من که با فرهنگ مردمم آشنا بودم و می دانستم در پس این عکس ها زندگی ایی در جریان است که ارزش نشان دادن دارد. این ها آزارنده بود و یکی از دلالیلی که هیچگاه نتوانستم به شکل دائم با خبرگزاری های بین المللی کار کنم نیز همین بوده است

حالا «روبن سالوادوری» یک عکاس جوان ایتالیایی گریزی زده بر چنین پدیده ای و آن را مورد مطالعه قرار داده است . از آن روی که این موضوع برای خودم نیز همیشه چالش برانگیز بوده ، شما را نیر در آن شریک می کنم

مالتی مدیای نولیوود توسط بومبی فلاینگ کلاب و با عکس های عکاس ایتالیایی گای کالاف درست شده. بومبی فلاینگ کلاب همون موسسه ای هست که هفته پیش من در مالتی مدیای ۴ روزه اش شرکت کرده بودم

دیدن این مالتی مدیا از این جهت مهمه که در زمان زیر ۳:۲۶ دقیقه تونسته یه بسته کوچک داستانی رو تحویل آدم بده

داستان این مالتی مدیا در باره صنعت فیلم نیجریه است و جایزه سوم شاخه فیچر در مسابقه عکس های سال ۲۰۱۰ (پی او وای) برده است

دوزخ جیمز ناکتوی در ایران

کتاب دوزخ (اینفرنو) که حاوی عکسهای جیمز ناکتوی است در ایران به چاپ رسیده است. این کتاب در تیراژ ۱۰۰۰ نسخه و با قیمت ۶۰/۰۰۰ تومان عرضه می شود و انتشارات آراد با همکارای انتشارات پرگار آن را منتشر کرده اند. جیمز ناکتوی که بهترین عکاس جنگ در ۲ دهه اخیر بوده است ، عکسهای جنگ های دهه پایانی قرن بیستم را در این کتاب به چاپ رسانده.

فکر می کنم اواسط دهه ۷۰ خورشیدی بود که یک مطلب بلند در باره این کتاب ترجمه کردم. این مطلب در یک صفحه و نیم روزنامه و در ۳ شماره روزنامه اخبار چاپ شد.

نمی دانم برای چاپ این کتاب اجازه ای از سوی جیمز ناکتوی صادر شده استیا نه و آیا اصولا این دو انتشارات در پی اخذ چنین مجوزی بوده اند؟ اگر ناشران و یا کسی اطلاعاتی در این باره دارند، خوشحال می شوم در کامنت برایم بنویسند. برای دیدن وبسایت فارسی این کتاب به اینجا بروید

پائولو پلگرین ، اسپن راسموسن کریستوفر موریس

روز گذشته کریستوفر موریس در فستیوال مستند تروندهایم عکسهاش رو به نمایش گذاشت. او در این برنامه آن دسته از عکسهایش را نشان داد که کمتر در محیط مدیا دیده شده است. علاوه بر این چند فیلم هم به نمایش درآورد که خودش گرفته بود. موریس در پاسخ به پرسشگری که گفت انتظار داشت عکس ها خبری اش را در این جلسه ببیند گفت عکس های من معمولا در نشریات دیده می شوند اما من در این جلسه می خواستم عکس هایی را نشان دهم که خودم دوست داشتم و کارهای شخصی من است و امکان چاپ در نشراین پیدا نمی کنند.. در ادامه همین بحث هم به این موضوع پرداخت که مطبوعات آمریکا هنوز هم از همان چیزی که در زمان یوجین اسمیت وجود داشت یعنی چاپ شدن دسته مشخصی از عکس ها و چاپ نشدن بقیه عکس ها و نگاه ها خلاصی نیافته است.

شب گذشته پائولو پلگرین و اسپن راسموسن در فستیوال مستند تروندهیم عکس هاشون رو به نمایش گذاشتن وحرف زدن

چه آدم محجوب و خجالتی مآبی بود پائولو ، چقدر هم محترم و آرام. او در جواب به پرسشی که چگونه عکاس شد گفت که فرزند یک آرشیتکت معروف بوده و آرشیتکت شدن گویا در خانواده شان موروژی شده بود. من هم در دانشگاه رشته آرشیتکتی می خواندم اما روزی به حودم گفتم که چرا باید چیزی را بخوانم که وافعا در زندگی علاقه ای به آن ندارم. بنابراین تصمیم گرفتم که دانشگاه را رها کنم اما برایم سخت بود این را با پدرم در میان بگذارم. چون او فردی مشهور بود و مدام دور و برش شلوغ بود و در جایگاه بالایی بود. اما بالاخره این کار را کردم . او هم قبول کرد. پس از آن به پاریس رفتم و مدتی در جاهای محتلف کار کردم و یک روز برگشتم به ایتالیا و با خودم گفتم بزار عکاسی رو تست کنم

یک بخش از عکس هایی که پائولو نشون داد مربوط به ایران بود. او گفت رفتن به ایران راحت نیست. معمولا در مواقع عادی نمی توان به راحتی ویزا گرفت و بهترین زمان سفر به ایران در مواقع سالگرد انقلاب و انتخابات است. من هم ۲-۳ باری در همین اوقات رفتم اما در چند سال اخیر تقریبا امکان ورود در همین اوقات نیز وجود ندارد.

یکی از حاضران موضوع اخلاق روزنامه نگاری را مطرح کرد و گفت اگر افراد درون این عکس ها اینجا می بودند اجازه می دادند که عکس های شان را نمایش دهید؟ پلگرین در جواب گفت بله که با مخالفت پرسش کننده روبرو شد. این موضوع کمی به بحث کشید و پلگرین گفت این مبحص مهمی است و نیاز به زمان طولانی برای حرف زدن داردو چیزی نیست که در اینجلسه کوتاه بتوان در باره اش حرف زد. اما کریستوفر موریس که در جلسه حاضر بود میکروفون را خواست و گفت چکونه است که وقتی سیاستمداران نقشه های جنک را می کشند و و اجرایش می کنند عکس های شان همه جا هست و مدام روی آنتن هستند اما عواقب کارهایی را که آنها می کنند نباید دیده شود و اجازه چاپ پیدا نمی کنند یا دیگر اخلاقی نیست که این ها را چاپ کنیم؟ چند جوان؟ چند بچه ؟ چند خانواده و زندگی نابود شده اند؟ (و اشاره کرد به عکسهای پلگرین که از عراقیانی بود که دچار آسیب های بدنی شده بودند و گفت چند نفر میل این ها در عراق هستند. این عکس ها بسیار تکان دهنده هستند. چرا نباید دیده شوند؟ یک بخش از عکس های دیگه اش پرتره هایی بود که از هنرپیشه های مشهور گرفته بود. من این پرتره ها رو خیلی دوست داشتم. در زیر عکسی رو از پنه لوپه کروز می بینین

پائولو یک مجموعه رنگی هم از آسیب دیدگان بدنی جنگ عراق نشان دهنده بود که بسیار تکان دهنده بود

Outsiders often see Afghanistan as a problem in need of a solution: a conflict region that needs more troops or another election. But in seeing Afghanistan as a problem, the people of the country, and their desire for self-determination, are often overlooked.

A Darkness Visible focuses on another story: one of ordinary citizens whose lives play out in the shadow of superpowers. There are stories of violence to be sure, but there is also friendship and love and even romance.

Based on 14 trips to Afghanistan between 1994 and 2010, A Darkness Visible is the work of renowned photojournalist Seamus Murphy. His luminous pictures chronicle a people caught time-and-again in political turmoil, struggling to find their own way.

In Airsick: An Industrial Devolution Toronto Star Photographer Lucas Oleniuk tackles the global issue of climate change through a local approach.

With the exception of two images, all 20,000 photographs were shot in Ontario, Canada. But they illustrate a global problem.

With a haunting original score by Randy Risling and evocative quotes, Airsick plays out like an unsettling dream.

"We're addicted to fossil fuels and our infrastructure reflects that," says Oleniuk. "My hope is that one day this film will be seen as the way we used to do things."

Reuters photographer is killed in Iraq

Freelance photographer Sabah al-Bazee, who had been a contributor for Reuters, has been killed in Tikrit in Iraq.

Thirty-year-old Sabah al-Bazee "was among more than 50 people killed on Tuesday when gunmen attacked a local government building in Tikrit, the hometown of former Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein," Reuters reports.

"On behalf of the entire team at Thomson Reuters, I wish to convey our sadness at the untimely death of Sabah al-Bazee," says Reuters Editor-in-Chief Stephen Adler. "He was a valued member of our team in Iraq and will be much missed by colleagues. This tragic incident shows yet again the risks journalists face daily in doing their jobs and to bring news to the world. Our thoughts are with Sabah's family and friends."Al-Bazee has been a contributor for Reuters for the past seven years. He was also working as a cameraman. He "suffered shrapnel wounds in an explosion," according to Reuters.

در جمعه ای که گذشت من یک اشتباه بزرگ کردم و عکس کاوه گلستان را به نام خودم در صفحه فیس بوکم منتشر کردم، این اشتباه از آنجا روی داد که من نیز در آن برنامه حضور داشتم و تقریبا مطمئن بودم که من هم همین لحظه را دارم، بابت این اشتباه از حسن عزیز عذر می خواهم و امیدوارم تلاشم برای عدم پیشروی این اشتباه مفید واقع شود

آقا من یک اشتباه بزرگ کردم، خیلی خوب شد که خبر دادی، اسمم رو هم پای عکس خودم نوشتم، واقعیت از این قرار است که وقتی داشتم عکس رو آپلود می کردم آنقدر مطمئن بودم که عکس من است با خودم فکر کردم که خب حالا حسن تعجب می کنه از این عکس که من مث همون رو دارم و حتی با خودم گفتم که چقدر شبیه به هم هستند و گفتم که خب لحظاتش یکی هست و ما هم پشت سر خاتمی تو جایگاه رییس جمهوری ایستاده بودیم برای همین خیلی شبیه هست، تقریبا مطئن هستم که از این لحظه عکس دارم، منتها نگاتیوها دستم نیست که چک کنم بابت این اشتباه واقعا معذرت می خوام و این پست رو پاکش می کنم و توضیح می دم که برای چی این اتفاق افتاد و در وبلاگم هم منتشرش می کنم، بسیار ممنونم که خبر دادی

poIn a Paris suburb in October 2005, two teenagers of African descent were running away from the police and tried to hide inside a power substation. They were electrocuted instantly. The violence that broke out in protest of police harassment soon spread to neighboring communities and eventually to housing projects across the whole of France. When the media came to document the events in Clichy-sous-Bois, they were met with an additional, unexpected kind of confrontation: behind one of the countless cars in flames was a black-and-white photograph that was pasted onto the side of an apartment building some time before and took up its entire width. From its center, surrounded by a group of boys striking aggressive poses, a black man several times larger than life stared out, pointing with what appeared at first to be a shotgun. On closer inspection, it was a video camera. Get out, he seemed to be saying, we’re recording this too, and we’ll tell the story the way we see it.

There are at least three ways of looking at this (and probably many more):

1: Jodie Bieber won the World Press Award for an important and eloquent photograph that has done much to highlight the abuse of women and their resilience in the face of unspeakable barbarism.

2: The photograph that won the World Press was used as propaganda that helps justify the billions of pounds of profit made from war. Bieber is not to blame for this and this should not be a consideration in the jury’s mind.

3: The photograph that won the World Press was used as propaganda that helps justify the billions of pounds of profit made from war. Bieber is complicit in the way the image of Aisha has been (ab)used.

If the answer is 1 then we should all be celebrating the award going to Bieber but if it is 2 or 3 then we should be worried.

I would not be the only person who is genuinely concerned that words ~~were~~ may have been put into Aisha’s mouth (not of course by Bieber). Read this extract from an interview with veteran journalist Ann Jones, who spoke with Aisha, as featured on Democracy Now:

It used to be you won an award and people would say nice things, at least to your face; now it’s an excuse for a mob to take to the Internet and vilify you. In the week since Jodi Bieber’s portrait of Bibi Aisha, a young Afghan woman disfigured by her family – who may or may not have been members of the Taliban – arguments have raged over World Press Photo’s decision to award their premier prize to the image.

Of course there’s always an argument about the WPP winner: what made this different was that it was not the usual “wrong choice” wrangle. Instead the controversy had its roots in Time Magazine’s previous use of the image to support the US military presence in Afghanistan. WPP had judged the image, but Bieber’s critics were focused on the use of that image and her part in its use: as a result discussion rapidly descended into a de facto personal attack on Bieber.

The history of documentary photography and photojournalism cannot be written without addressing the complicated relationships that documentary photographers have with galleries and museums. Arguably these institutions and settings have provided a means for at least some photographers to extend their reach, to achieve certain kinds of professional distinction that allow them to continue to work, and to provide longevity to their projects. 10 Ways to NOT Become a Successful Photographer

Last week, Atlanta-based music photographer and noted blogger Zack Arias posted a partly sobering and partially hilarious blog post that has received a great deal of attention (all of Zack’s posts should receive a great deal of attention). Zack described a moment of apprehension and anxiety similar to those that we all deal with as small business people, that moment when a day job sounds like a good idea and the stresses of running our own businesses can really creep up on us. Thankfully, Zack also made it very clear that he had no intention of leaving photography and that this was merely a momentary reaction to stress. We all have that little voice somewhere in the back of our head that wants to undermine our desires and prevent us from taking chances. That unevolved chunk of animal brain cells that craves survival and an absence of risks is always telling us to play it safe. We need to make a conscious effort to stifle this ingrained self-sabotage impulse and push ourselves to be more than a mere creature concerned with nothing besides its immediate survival. The second and more entertaining part of Zack’s post was a rather comical but poignant rant about the abject pointlessness of generic “Top Ten Ways to Become a Pro Photographer” lists. Zack’s primary complaint, and agreeably so, is that these lists tend to offer advice that is so below the “should not need to be said” as to be insulting and useless. Tips like “breath”, “get a portfolio” and “think about getting some business cards” don’t really provide any benefit and are, as Zack says, an exercise in making more noise than signal.

It is true that some things do go without saying. Sadly, it is also true that some thing should go without saying. These lists of very obvious and very trite suggestions on how to better your career leave a lot to be desired in terms of usable content, but what about a list of common behaviors that can hurt you? It goes without saying that these ideas are just as basic and simple as their counterparts that angered Zack Arias so much last week, and they too should go without saying, but sadly these patterns of behavior are still exhibited by so many that they call for their own top ten list.

Sebastian Liste of Spain received the 2010 Ian Parry Scholarship and £3000 grand prize today for his project entitled “Urban Quilombo.” The story explores the lives of sixty homeless families inhabiting the abandoned “Galpão da Araújo Barreto” chocolate factory in Salvador de Bahia, Brazil.
A panel of five judges selected Liste's submission not only because of the quality of his portfolio, but the clarity with which he he conveyed the neglect and suffering of his subjects, organizers said in a press release. One of the judges, Sunday Times Magazine director of photography Jon Jones, described Liste's work as "of the highest standard for such a young photographer." Other judges included photographers Don McCullin and Marcus Bleasdale, Foto8 publisher Jon Levy, and Getty Images editor Steve Blogg.
In addition to receiving the monetary prize, Liste will be included automatically on a final list of nominees for the Joop Swart Masterclass in Amsterdam. His project will also be published by the Sunday Times Magazine, and it will be exhibited at the Getty Images Gallery at 46 Eastcastle Street in London from August 16th to 23rd.
The judging committee also recognized Liz Hingley of the United Kingdom as “Highly Commended” and American Matt Eich as “Commended.” Both will receive a prize of £500. Judges also recognized Canadian Ed Ou and Rodrigo Alfaro of Argentina, who received “Honorable Mention,” and “Special Commendation,” respectively.
The scholarship was founded to commemorate the death of Ian Perry, a 24-year-old photojournalist killed on assignment for the Sunday Times during the Romanian Revolution in 1989. The prize is given annually to a photographer who is under 24 years of age or attending a full-time photographic course.

این الان یکی از اون وقت هاست که من شاخ در می آرم. واقعا نمی تونم درک کنم که چطور ممکنه که رسانه ای در حد و اندازه های اکونومیست چنین اشتباهی رو انجام بده و عکس رییس جمهور یکی از مهمترین کشور های دنیا رو به شکل احمقانه ای دستکاری کنه و بعدش هم دلایل احمقانه تری براش بیاره

هر ادیتور نرم افزاری تازه کاری که شروع به ادیت ویرایشی عکس می کنه معمولا ادیتور بخش عکس اولین چیزهایی رو که بهش می گه دامنه ادیت هاییه که ادیتور عکس می تونه یا اجازه داره انجام بده و اصولا دست نبردن در مفاهیم منتقل شده در عکس یکی از اولین چیزهایی است که در ادیت عکس برای آماده نمودن آن باید انجام داد. قلب واقعیت و دمیدن انرژی دیگری به عکس بر خلاف آن چیزی که در عکس جریان دارد کاری است نکوهیده و باز نمایی دیگری است در یک مفهم ثبت شده

از سوی دیگر هر رسانه ای در موضوع اطلاع رسانی باید آنچه را که واقعا اتفاق افتاده منتقل کنند، اگر قرار باشد چنین دستکاری هایی صورت بگیرد، مخاطبان یک رسانه چگونه می توانند به آن اعتماد کنند. اکنون بسیاری از مطبوعات دنیا می کوشند تا به مخاطبان خویش بقبولانند که راستگویند تا بتوانند اعتماد مخاطبان را جذب کنند و نزد آنان اعتبار یابند، چرا که اگر چنینی اعتمادی در کار نباشد اصولا بقای آن رسانه معلوم نیست چه فایده ای در پی داشته باشد

شاید در نظر اول دستکاری در این عکس برای خیلی ها مهم نباشد اما در نظر بگیرید که جمع کردن لکه های نفتی به یک بحران تبدیل شده و انتقادات فراوانی را به دولت آمریکا وارد کرده است

عکسی که گرفته شده یک عکس معمولی از صحنه صحبت و مشاوره اوباما با یک خانم و یک آقاست

حال اکونومیست آن زن و مرد را حذف کرده و اوباما را تنها در برابر یک دکل نفتی قرار داده، تا بتوان سوار بر موج رسانه ای بحران نفتی شود و تصویری جذاب را نشان دهد که اوباما سر به زیر انداخته و گویا که شکست خورده است

انتخاب این و این کار فوتوشاپ کاملا آگاهانه بوده، چون حالت بدنی اوباما و فیزیک و پز او واجد شرایط مفاهیمی است که در بالا اشاره کردم فقط می ماند با آن دو نفر چه باید کرد. اینجاست که اکونومیست خیلی راحت به این نتیجه رسیده که آن دوفر را از صفحه واقعیت عکس بزداید. خیلی دلم می خواهد بدانم منبع ساپورت اکونومیست از کجاست، احتمالا دانستن این موضوع به روشن شدن دلیل این اتفاق کمک زیادی می کند

دایره تصویر سازی با دست بردن در عکس کاملا باید مشخص باشد و حتی درج شده باشد ممکن است از عکس اوباما یا هر کس دیگری استفاده کنیم برای یک تصویر سازی و پای آن هم می نویسیم عکس از فلان و تصویرسازی از فلان و خود تصویر هم معمولا مشخس است که تصویر سازی است که معمولا طرح یا گرافیکی را به آن می افزایند

اما کم کردن به این شکل بار اول نیست که اتفاق می افتد و قابل دفاع نیست و رسوایی های خودش را هم دارد . این اتفاق نزد عکاسان بیش از همه آشناست چرا که بارها پیش آمده وقتی عکسی را می گیریم با خود می گوییم : "واااااااای چی می شد اگه این اینجا نبود، عجب عکسی می شدا" و این اتفاق همون "اگه این اینجا نبود" است

و اما حرف های ادیتور عکس اکونومیست

خانم "اما دانکن"ما قبول داریم که این کار را انجام داده ایم، اما آن را به هدف سیاسی انجام ندادیم، ما به این دلیل آن خانم را حذف کردیم که حضور یک زن ناشناس فقط به گیج شدن خوانندگان ما منجر می شد. ما قبلا هم از این گونه جلد ها داشته ایم، مثل عکسی که سر اوباما را باند پیچی کرده بودیم، یا پشت سر چاوز را تاریک کرده بودیم. یا حتی بک گراند اوباما را در یک جلد دیگر عوض کردیم، ادیت های عکس ما با این هدف نیست که آن را آشفته کند، من آن دونفر را حذف کردم تا بینندگا را به اوباما تمرکز دهم نه اینکه او را تک افتاده نشان دهم، این موضوع ما نبود و تیتری هم که زدیم منظور ما به اوباما نبود بلکه به اقتصاد آمریکا بود

requiring a search to be ‘expedient’ for the prevention of terrorism, to the stricter test of it

The Economist Alters News Photo for Cover Layout

An editor at The Economist insists the decision to Photoshop a news photo for its June 19 cover was made for the sake of design, not politics. A version of the same photo was also used to illustrate an opinion piece critical of President Obama for being too harsh on BP.

Next to the headline “Obama vs BP: The Damage Beyond the Spill,” The Economist used a photo showing Obama alone on a Louisiana beach. The original photo, taken by Larry Downing of Reuters, shows that the President was standing next to a local representative, Charlotte Randolph, who was Photoshopped out of the photo. Admiral Thad Allen of the Coast Guard was cropped out of the photo.

In the Photoshopped photo, Obama appears to be looking down, as if thoughtful or discouraged. The unaltered photo shows he was listening to Randolph, who is about a foot shorter than Obama.

Emma Duncan, deputy editor at The Economist, told The New York Times yesterday that she wanted Randolph airbrushed from the photo "not to make a political point, but because the presence of an unknown woman would have been puzzling to readers."

She wrote in an email, "I asked for Ms Randolph to be removed because I wanted readers to focus on Mr Obama, not because I wanted to make him look isolated. That wasn't the point of the story."

If the Photoshopped cover doesn't make a political point, the cover story certainly does. Inside the issue, The Economist ran a tightly cropped version of Downing's photo over an opinion piece that describes "the President’s swipes at" BP as "anti-business." As The Columbia Journalism Review noted in its critique of this "off the deep end" essay, The Economist writes the following under the subhead “Vladimir Obama":

“If he sees any impropriety in politicians ordering executives about, upstaging the courts and threatening confiscation, he has not said so. The collapse in BP’s share price suggests that he has convinced the markets that he is an American version of Vladimir Putin, willing to harry firms into doing his bidding.”

The opinion piece also says attempts by Obama, Congress and the Administration to get BP to pay for the oil spill clean up are xenophobic: BP is a British company, as is The Economist.

یان پری عکاس خبری انگلیس 20 سال پیش زمانی که 24 سال بیشتر نداشت، طی ماموریتی برای ساندی تایمز در انقلاب 1968 رومانی کشته شد. بورس یان پری توسط آیدان سولیوان دوست نزدیک و ادیتور تصویری ساندی تایمز به منظور تاثیری مثبت از مرگ تراژیک او پایه گذاری شد.

این جایزه هر سال برای عکاسان جوان زیر 24 سال برپا داشته می شود. شرکت کنندگان باید تعدای از نمونه عکس های خود را به همراه مختصر نوشته ای در باره پروژه ای که با مبلغ این جایزه به انجام خواهند رساند برای این مسابقه ارسال کنند.

The prize, which is sponsored by The Sunday Times and BJP, is run in memory of Ian Parry, a photojournalist who died while on assignment for the newspaper during the Romanian revolution in 1989. He was 24 years old. "The Scholarship was set up by Aidan Sullivan and Ian’s friends and family in order to build something positive from such a tragic death," say the organisers.

Photographers attending a full-time recognised photography course or under the age of 24 years could submit a portfolio of their work and a synopsis of the project they would undertake if they won the award. The prize is £3000 towards the winner's dream assignment and £500 to the two runners-up. متن زیر مصاحبه ام هست با رادیو فردا در باره عکاسی خبری امروز ایران، لینک صوتی اش رو در فیس بوکم گذاشته ام، ولی چون رادیو فردا فیلتر هست متنش رو اینجا می ذارم تا دوستان عکاس دسترسی راحت داشته باشند

باید ذکر کنم که حرف ها و بحث ها در این موضوع خیلی بیشتر از این است ولی صحبت در چارچوب یک برنامه رادیویی چند دقیقه ای زمان کافی ایی نیست و به اجبار باید فشرده و تیتر وار موضوعات را مطرح کرد

در بخش دوم این برنامه جواد منتظری، دبیر عکس چند روزنامه اصلاح طلب از جمله روزنامه های خرداد، فتح، همبستگی و غیره شرکت دارد که به عنوان عکاس با خبرگزاری رویترز کار کرده و عکس هایش در روزنامه های مشهور دنیا مانند تایم، نیوزویک، نیویورک تایمز، فیگارو، اشپیگل و ... منتشر شده است.

در ایران با توجه به مشکلات و محدودیت هایی که برای روزنامه نگاران وجود دارد، به نظر می آید عکاس خبرنگاران و کسانی که برای مطبوعات عکاسی می کنند شغل بی دردسرتری نسبت به آنها داشته باشند؟

جواد منتظری: نه اینطور نیست. برای اینکه از یک جهاتی درد سرشان بیشتر است. جدا از اینکه وقتی محصول هر دوی آنها وقتی چاپ می شود، تکست یا متن به زمان نیاز دارد برای خوانده شدن ولی عکس را شما از دور روی دکه می بینید. برای همین خیلی سریعتر تاثیر می گذارد. حکومت یاد گرفته، به خصوص در چند سال اخیر، نسبت به عکاس ها بیشتر دقیق شود و خیلی بیشتر اذیت شان کند.

چه محدودیت هایی به صورت ملموس وجود دارد؟

چه محدودیت هایی به صورت ملموس وجود دارد؟

یک فرقی بین روزنامه نگار و عکاس وجود دارد، اینست که وقتی روزنامه نگار می رود داخل یک تجمع یا تظاهراتی که به ویژه وقتی به حکومت دارد اعتراض می کند، و می خواهند به معترضان حمله کنند، خبرنگار می تواند مثل آدم عادی در جمع باشد و چیزی نشود. ولی عکاس اینطور نیست.

عکاس در خط اول آن اتفاقات باید قرار بگیرد و دوربینش را بیاورد جلوی صورتش و عکس بگیرد. این یعنی دستگاهی که بلافاصله از فاصله دور نشان می دهد که کارش چیست و دارد چه کار می کند و مورد شناسایی قرار می گیرد. فرق دیگر اینست که عکاس ها معمولاً مرغ عزا و عروسی اند. وقتی دارند در تجمع عکاسی می کنند از دو جهت مورد ظن قرار می گیرند. یکی از طرف حکومت که می خواهی این عکس ها را کجا چاپ کنی و از طرف دیگر خود جمعیت حاضر در آنجا که تو عکس ما را می گیری و چاپ می کنی و ما را شناسایی می کنند و می گیرند.

در کارهای روزمره چه محدودیت هایی به صورت ملموس وجود دارد؟

از جمله محدودیت ها اینست که اجازه دسترسی راحت در حوزه های خبری نمی دهند. باید از سدهای زیادی رد شوی. وقتی موضوع حساس می شود، این اتفاق بیشتر خودش را نشان می دهد. این بزرگترین محدودیتی است که ما در ایران داریم و این که دولت می خواهد شیوه نگاه عکاسان را به موضوعات اجتماعی و خبری کنترل کند. برای همین اینکه چه کسانی کجا می توانند بروند عکاسی کنند، را انتخاب و گلچین می کند. یا وقتی عکسی چاپ می کنید که یک خورده مهم می شود، بلافاصله به شما تذکر می دهند، تلفن می کنند، به ویژه برای عکاسانی که با رسانه های خارجی کار می کنند.

برای کسانی مثل من که با رسانه های خارجی کار می کنند مشکل دیگری وجود دارد و آن اینست که خارج از پایتخت هر جا بخواهیم عکاسی کنیم، حتماً باید به بخش مطبوعات خارجی وزارت ارشاد خبر دهیم. به خصوص در مورد اتفاقاتی که در یک سال گذشته بعد از انتخابات افتاد خیلی شدید تر بود و اولش خبر دادند که نروید عکاسی کنید ما نمی توانیم مسئولیت قبول کنیم. بعد فکس زدند که نروید عکاسی کنید. بعد از آن دیدند که باز یک سری از بچه ها می روند و عکاسی می کنند، اس ام اس می فرستادند به تلفن موبایل ما که مجوز کار خبری تان -برای مثلاً این چند روز، که می دانستیم که طرفداران جنبش سبز در سطح شهر تجمع دارند- اعتبار ندارد.

گفتید پیش از این اعتراضات مشخص می کردند که افراد خاص می توانند از جاهای خاص عکس بگیرند و دیگران نمی توانند. می شود نمونه بدهید؟

مثلاً خود ریاست جمهوری از جاهایی است که برای اینکه شما بروید عکس بگیرید، باید اول تقاضا بدهید و بعد چند ماهی طول می کشد تا تایید شوید. وقتی هم تایید می شوید هر برنامه ای شما را نمی برند. وقتی زمان می گذرد می بینید یک سری عکاسان جاهایی می روند که شما نمی توانید بروید.

اگر دیدار با افراد خاصی است، یا اگر رئیس جمهوری جاهای خاصی دارد می رود، مثلاً سفرهای استانی را من خودم بارها تقاضا داده ام که بروم و آخرش هم نشد. هر دفعه به من می گفتند که حالا شما دوباره بگو. تاسیسات هسته ای را من هیچ وقت نتوانستم بروم. در حالی که وقتی خبرنگاران خارجی وارد ایران می شوند برایشان تور عکاسی از تاسیسات هسته ای می گذارند.

نگرانی شان از چیست؟
بیشتر این مسئله است که شما در بعضی جاها می توانید عکس بگیرید که آن عکس با زاویه و نگاهی که حکومت می خواهد از خودش ارائه دهد، ناخوشایند باشد
حتی در دفتر ریاست جمهوری؟

حتی در دفتر ریاست جمهوری. بعضی از دیدارها را همه را دعوت نمی کنند. بهانه شان اینست که جا نیست. نمی توانیم پوشش بدهیم. ولی واقعیت این نیست. آنجا که لازم است، فوج عکاسان جا می گیرند و آنجا که لازم نیست، یک تعداد بیشتر جا نمی شوند. حتی یادم است در دوره اصلاحات هم این ماجرا اتفاق افتاد.

مثال مشخص آن: یادم است وقتی آقای خاتمی رفته بود نمایشگاه جنگ که از ادوات و ابزار جنگی دیدن کند، پشت یک دستگاه موشک انداز نشست. ما آن صحنه را ثبت کردیم ولی بلافاصله بعد از آن آمدند به ما گفتند که این عکس را لطفاً پخش نکنید و ما جایی پخش نکردیم. این اتفاق می افتد. یعنی سانسور و خود سانسوری بخشی از فرهنگ کار روزنامه نگاری ماست و ما پذیرفتیم.

در مورد آقای احمدی نژاد هم قطعاً وجود داشته است. ولی من چون کمتر در جاهای خاص با ایشان رفته ام، متاسفانه نمی توانم مثال بزنم. مورد دیگرش بیت رهبری است. اولین باری که رفتم بیت رهبری به من گفتند که شما دیگر اجازه ندارید عکاسی کنید. من نفهمیدم چرا. خیلی برای من عجیب بود. آخرش به من گفتند یا باید ریش و مویت را بزنی یا نیایی. یعنی داشتن ریش بلند و موی بلند موردی شد که من نتوانم در بیت رهبری عکاسی کنم.

فکر می کنید که مطبوعات ما الان تا چه حد چهره واقعی را از جامعه نشان می دهند با تصاویری که از نظر عکس هایی که منتشر می کنند؟

من فکر می کنم در ایران ساختار عکاسی خبری نداریم. این چیزی که ما می گیریم یک تعداد عکسی است که می گیریم و در روزنامه ها چاپ می شود و بعد می رود پی کارش. ولی این یک عکاسی خبری درست برای مطبوعات کشور ۷۰ میلیونی نیست. با آن وسعت جمعیت، با آن وسعت جغرافیا...

چرا این را می گویید؟

عکاسی مستند ما در روزنامه ها دیده نمی شود. داستان های مردم گوشه و کنار ایران را چاپ نمی کنیم. مشکلاتی که در زندگی اینها وجود دارد. شادی هایی که زندگی اینها وجود دارد. حتی فعالیت های روزانه مردم مان را نمی توانیم در روزنامه هایمان نشان دهیم. بچه های بسیاری هستند که پروژه های مستند و اجتماعی بسیار زیبایی انجام می دهند. اینها هیچ وقت در روزنامه های ما دیده نمی شود.

روزنامه های ما به لحاظ عکاسی، انعکاس شرایط و جامعه ای که در آن زندگی می کنیم نیست. مشکل دیگر خود عکاسان هستند. عکاسان به اندازه لازم به روز نیستند. به لحاظ دانش و علم عکاسی مطبوعاتی. مشکل دیگر کسانی هستند که با آنها کار می کنیم. یعنی خبرنگاران و مدیران رسانه ها. اینها هم به لحاظ دانش تصویری و دانش عکاسی متناسب با حرفه شان، به اندازه کافی پر نیستند و ما بخشی از مشکلاتمان همیشه در کار با خبرنگاران است.

این مشکل دو طرفه است. یعنی عکاسان از کار خبری چیزی نمی دانند و خبرنگاران از کار عکاسی. این به خودی خود یک فاصله به وجود می آورد. مشکل دیگر خود جامعه است. جامعه ما هنوز پذیرای رسانه قشنگ و رسانه درست نیست. بهترین روزنامه های ما تیراژهای بالایی ندارند. ولی می بینید خیلی از مجلاتی که تاثیر آن چنانی روی افکار مردم در زمینه آگاهی دهندگی ندارند، تیراژهایشان خیلی بیشتر است. یعنی یک مخلوطی از همه این هاست

با تمام این مسائل آیا دوست دارید که هنوز در ایران عکاس باشید و توصیه می کنید که اگر جوانی از شما بپرسد که می خواهم عکاس شوم، این کاره شود؟

بله من قطعاً ترجیح می دهم که در ایران عکاسی کنم و برخواهم گشت و این کار را خواهم کرد. برای اینکه احساس می کنم آنجا جایی است که من در آن متولد شده ام و فکر کرده ام در موردش و نوشته ام با عکس در مورد آن (منظورم عکاسی مستند است) حق طبیعی من است. این حق را کسی نخواهد توانست از من بگیرد.
اگر جوانی از من بپرسد که می خواهد وارد این کار شود، به او می گویم که مشکلات این کار اینست ولی اگر می خواهی وارد شوی، پیش از هر چیز باید توان عکاسی و فکرت را بالا بکشی. چیزی که ما لازم داریم، فکری است که پشت این دوربین خوابیده و نگاهی است که پشت منظریاب دوربین خوابیده است. از دوربین عکاسی به عنوان ابزار بیان استفاده کن!
